Greenland from Iceland in 2027: what is on sale and what is only filed

Air Greenland's map shows Keflavík–Nuuk on Tuesdays to 20 December 2026 and nothing for 2027; Icelandair's 2027 flights exist only as filings. What the ledger assumes.

On 1 November 2026 the only Keflavík–Greenland flight that can be read on an airline's own page is Air Greenland's Nuuk–Keflavík service, listed on its route map as "Tuesday flights from January 11 to December 20, 2026". There are no 2027 dates on that map. Icelandair's Greenland pages returned 403 three times today, in three locales, so none of its days can be quoted from the airline. Its 2027 Greenland programme exists, for a reader of public pages, only as schedule filings reported by AeroRoutes, and those filings say Nuuk from 5 March 2027 and Ilulissat from 3 June 2027 on the A320neo, with Ilulissat cut from nine weekly to three in peak summer. The five-day ledger on this site is built on a Tuesday departure and a July date, and that choice still fits what is published; the rest is waiting.

The status table

Three categories: "on sale" means the airline's own page shows the dates as bookable; "announced" means the airline has published days and a start date; "filed" means a schedule has been loaded into booking systems and reported by a third party, which airlines change at will.

AeroRoutes' 2 August 2026 listing carries the two start dates and the airline's own caution that "Additional changes remain highly possible"; its 1 October 2026 update compares "mid-June to early September 2027" with the same period in 2026 and gives the frequency cuts, noting that capacity still rises because an A320neo replaces the Dash 8-200. Air Greenland's agent portal, which a search excerpt says published the summer 2027 schedule on 24 June 2026 with sales from 27 March 2027, returned 403 today and is not relied on.

What the ledger assumes

The five-day Greenland add-on carries 7 hours 40 of flying and no road: Keflavík–Nuuk 140 minutes, Nuuk–Ilulissat 90, and the return Ilulissat–Nuuk–Keflavík 230 with the connection. Its default start is 6 July 2027, which is a Tuesday, the one weekday Air Greenland has flown Keflavík in 2026. That is not a coincidence; the ledger was keyed to the only readable day. If Air Greenland keeps Tuesdays in 2027 and Icelandair's filed schedule survives, a July Tuesday has two carriers on the first leg and the direct Ilulissat return on three days of the week. If either changes, the ledger's shape holds and its dates move; the FAQ already says fix the Greenland dates first and fit Iceland round them.

Two cautions the table makes visible. Three weekly Ilulissat flights are fewer than nine: a fog day in Ilulissat, which the ledger already budgets for, costs two days rather than one on the direct return, and the via-Nuuk alternative becomes the normal route rather than the fallback. And "on sale" for Air Greenland currently ends at 20 December 2026; anyone booking Keflavík–Nuuk for next July is, on 1 November 2026, booking a flight that has not yet been published on the operator's public map.

The Iceland decision

The add-on changes the length of an Iceland trip, not its route, and in 2027 it changes it by the same seven days as before: five in Greenland and a buffer night at each end in Reykjavík. What the status table adds is an order of operations. Read Air Greenland's route map for the 2027 Keflavík days when they appear; read Icelandair's Greenland page when it will load; book the Greenland legs on a single ticket where one carrier offers it; then open the Iceland ledger and move its start date to the Tuesday that results. This post will be re-checked when either airline publishes.
