About supjourney
Journeys through the North, planned with arithmetic rather than adjectives.
Updated 1 November 2026
Most route guides describe. supjourney computes. Each journey here is a day-by-day ledger — kilometres, driving minutes at legal speeds, ferry and flight legs with their operators, daylight at the date you choose, fuel from a dated price and cost bands for the rest — so you can see whether a seven-day loop is sane in March before you book anything.
About four fifths of the site is Iceland, because that is where most northern journeys start or end. The rest exists only where it changes an Iceland decision: the Faroe Islands by ferry on the way, Norway's fjords as the alternative first trip, Lapland against Iceland for the aurora, Greenland as an add-on, a Copenhagen or Oslo stopover.
What we promise
- Answer first. The first paragraph says whether the plan is sane, for whom, and when.
- Every figure has a source and a date. Distances from the road authorities, timetables from the operators, daylight from the NOAA solar formula, fuel prices dated. Where we could not source a figure, the ledger says so instead of guessing.
- Bands, not fantasy budgets. Accommodation and food are bands; the only exact prices are the ones an operator published, with the date.
- No sponsored routes, no affiliate links. Nothing on a route is a headline because someone paid for it.
