GeoSea is Húsavík's sea bath: infinity-edge pools of hot, mineral-rich seawater on the headland by the lighthouse, looking across Skjálfandi bay to the mountains. It suits anyone sleeping in Húsavík, a cold afternoon after a whale-watching boat, and a Diamond Circle day that wants a soak. It is not a cheap pool, and today the operator's own page could not agree on the price.
The figures, read today on geosea.is: the Icelandic-language price list gives adults 7,490 ISK, children 6 to 16 3,990 ISK with under-sixes free, and seniors, students and disabled guests 5,190 ISK. The English-language list on the same page gives adults 6,490, children 3,290 and the concession 4,390 ISK. The gift voucher for one person is 7,490 ISK, which suggests the Icelandic list is the current one, but this page is marked for re-verification until the operator settles it. Rentals on the Icelandic list: towel 1,590, swimsuit 1,290, bathrobe 2,790 ISK. The hours tables also differ between languages; the Icelandic one gives 12:00 to 22:00 from 1 October to 31 March, 10:00 to 22:00 in April, May and September, and 10:00 to midnight from June to August, with guests out of the water 15 minutes before closing.
The arithmetic
Húsavík is the sleep town on day 3 of the Diamond Circle journey, and the town is on day 6 of the ten-day Ring Road. From the town centre to GeoSea is 1.9 km and about 5 minutes by OSRM on OpenStreetMap, a walk for most. The operator gives no suggested stay; this page allows 90 minutes. With 10 minutes of driving and a 15-minute buffer, it costs a Húsavík evening about 115 minutes. On the ten-day route's Mývatn–Akureyri day, which already stops in Húsavík, the cost is the 90 minutes plus parking.
What goes wrong
The price and hours discrepancy above is the first thing: check the booking screen before assuming. In winter the noon opening means it cannot fill a morning, and the 22:00 close comes before the late aurora hours. The headland is exposed; on a windy day the walk from the changing room to the water is the cold part.
Alternatives in the North
Whale watching from Húsavík leaves from the harbour below and is the reason most people are in town. Forest Lagoon by Akureyri stays open to midnight all year. The Earth Lagoon at Mývatn is on the Ring Road.

What this page adds
A dated record of a price conflict on the operator's own page — 7,490 against 6,490 ISK for an adult on 1 November 2026 — and a 115-minute ledger cost from a Húsavík bed (a 90-minute allowance, a 1.9 km, 5-minute drive each way by OSRM on OpenStreetMap, a 15-minute buffer).
