Flúðir is a greenhouse village in the Hrunamannahreppur farming district, south of Gullfoss, and it earns a place on a Golden Circle route because of Gamla laugin, the old pool sold as the Secret Lagoon. Its operator says the pool was made in 1891 at Hverahólmi and reopened on 7 June 2014; it sits among small hot springs, one of them called Litli Geysir.
The practical line, read today on secretlagoon.is: open daily 10:00 to 19:00 from 1 October to 31 May and 10:00 to 20:00 from 1 June to 30 September, with 10:00 to 18:00 on 24 and 31 December. Adults 4,500 ISK, seniors 67+ and people with disabilities 3,300 ISK, children 14 and under a token fee, with at most three children per adult. Parking is for guests during opening hours only; no overnight parking or camping.
As a detour: Gullfoss to Kerið direct is about 48 minutes; via the Secret Lagoon it is about 68 (OSRM on OpenStreetMap), so the village adds around 20 minutes of driving to a Golden Circle loop that returns to Reykjavík by Selfoss.
